Harrow & Wembley Progressive  Synagogue (‘HWPS’) of 39 Bessborough Road, Harrow, Middlesex HA1 3BS, is an affiliate of Liberal Judaism and serves north-west London with a wide range of religious, educational and communal facilities. HWPS is a not-for-profit organisation, and relies on communication between its officers and members to realise those objectives.

HWPS will hold and use personal data, together with other information, about members, including past members and applicants. Personal data will include contact details, financial details and details of family, lifestyle and social circumstances. Personal data may be received from members themselves, or from relatives or guardians of younger members, and may include certain sensitive data.

HWPS will hold and use personal data for the purpose of realising the religious, educational and communal objectives of the Synagogue. HWPS may disclose such data to selected third parties, including other members of the Synagogue, for this purpose.

Personal data, together with certain sensitive data, may also be held and used by the Rabbi for pastoral care. He may disclose such information, which will be held separate to the membership database, to other organisations and welfare agencies for this purpose.

HWPS may hold and use education and academic details, and may disclose personal data of younger members to relatives and guardians.

HWPS will hold and use personal data for marketing, public relations and fundraising. Such data may be passed to carefully selected third parties, for example Liberal Judaism, for marketing or fundraising purposes.

HWPS will record and use CCTV images of people entering the Synagogue premises for crime prevention and the prosecution of offenders. Contact details of members may be disclosed to third parties, such as the Community Security Trust, and other members of the Synagogue, for the purpose of providing security cover.
