During our lives we give in countless ways to others. We give hugely to our families and friends and those with whom we work. We eventually learn that it is through giving and receiving that we can begin to discover the meaning of life.

The basis of a Synagogue community is giving and receiving too. Our members give of their time, energy and money to help others. And, in return, our members share in a sense of belonging, as well as opportunities for celebration, learning, friendship and receiving pastoral care. Harrow and Wembley Progressive Synagogue is known for its warmth, and for a spirit of giving and receiving that cuts across all generations.

Recently we have dedicated our new building. Faced with the hastening decay of our old structure we decided to rebuild. Our new synagogue is also a fine community centre. It is a bright, airy, cheerful and versatile home for the myriad of activities that we offer for the benefit of members and to others in the wider community. This building offers us new potential for religious, social, and educational activities. We want to use our facilities for the greatest possible benefit. And we want to be able to do so for the generations that follow us. With our lives and efforts we not only can give to others in the present, but we can make a huge difference in the future for a thriving, caring Progressive Jewish community in our area.
